Curriculum Intent for Computing
At St. Gregory's we want to ensure that our children are ready to actively participate in the digital world. Our intention is for children to become digitally literate on a range of systems. They will use their knowledge of Computer Science and Information Technology to code, develop an understanding of the practical applications and use their computing skills in the wider world. Children will also develop an understanding of how problems can occur in the coding and building of applications and they will understand the important role debugging plays in creating solutions to problems. Promoting internet safety will be a key factor that underpins all the curriculum units, to ensure our children are confident in using all forms of technology. Children will explore the wide variety of benefits and dangers that can present themselves online and will be taught a number of ways in which they can stay safe online.
