Curriculum Intent for P.E.

At St. Gregory's we aim for a high-quality physical education curriculum that inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. It will provide opportunities for all pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness throughout their childhood and into adult life. It is our intention to support children in growing a sustainable attitude to the importance of being physically fit and maintaining a healthy balanced diet. An education of food groups will inspire our children to make healthy life choices that will impact on their day-to-day efficiency and uphold a healthy body and state of emotional and mental well-being. We want our curriculum to nurture confidence in a range of sports, skills and tactical awareness; including the benefits that come from each of them. Opportunities to compete in sport and other activities will build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect in our children.
